About

Practicing Catholic Medicine is a podcast dedicated to developing community, encouraging conversation, and providing top-notch healthcare that respects the dignity of all our patients. I interview Catholic healthcare providers and invite them to share the challenges, joys, and all the in-betweens of being Practicing Catholics, Practicing Medicine.

I’m your host, Catie.

I’m a pediatric physician assistant, and I’ve worked in inpatient and outpatient medicine for nearly a decade. Originally from Minnesota, I moved across the country for PA school at the University of Colorado. While in school, I met my now-husband, and we have no plans of leaving our great state! We adore our community and time in the mountains with our growing family.

My desire to start this podcast was born out of my own searching for a podcast like this while I was in PA school. I had just finished two years as a Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS) missionary, and I was more than a little daunted at the idea of how to stay true to my Catholic faith in medicine. I wanted to learn from other healthcare providers and to share that knowledge with others. I dusted off the knowledge from my undergraduate minor and internships in communications and got to work.

The Practicing Catholic Medicine podcast launched in 2018. I’ve taken breaks in busy seasons of raising babies, but I keep returning to this platform for encouragement for myself and followers. It has been a joy to know those who love the podcast and to meet some incredible professionals.

Thank you for being here. I hope this podcast uplifts you, reminds you of the joy and privilege of caring for patients, and inspires you to to see Christ and His will in all you serve.

In Jesus through Mary,

Catie
